Howard P. Levine graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and attended DePaul University College of Law. Upon graduation from law school, he worked as a law clerk for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court in Wheaton before serving as a DuPage County Assistant State 's Attorney in the Felony Trial Division. Prior to joining DeAno and Scarry, Mr. Levine worked as an in-house municipal attorney and prosecutor for the City of Naperville for fourteen years.
Mr. Levine brings extensive experience representing public bodies in civil litigation, labor and employment, ordinance prosecutions, and daily transactional work to DeAno and Scarry. He has defended public bodies in such areas as civil rights, employment, personal injury, premises liability, contracts, construction and land use. He has successfully represented municipalities before the EEOC, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and in union arbitrations. In addition to prosecuting municipal DUIs and traffic offenses, he has also represented municipalities in administrative hearings before Boards of Fire and Police, Pension Boards and acted as a hearing officer in cases challenging vehicle tows.
Mr. Levine currently serves as a City of Wheaton Councilman and was formerly a school board member for Community Consolidated School District 89 in Glen Ellyn. He is admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court, Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
