- Congratulations to associate attorney, Scott Dolezal, in obtaining summary judgment in favor of the City of Elgin and three of its finest. In Shales v. City of Elgin, 04 C 8358 2007 WL 1296987 (N.D. Ill. 2007), police officers investigating claim of harassment went to the residence of an alleged harasser. When officers told the harasser he was under arrest and asked him to step outside from behind the screen door, the harasser refused and went further into house and police followed. The Court found officers were qualifiedly immune from liability.
